Pawfect began in 2019 when founder Elena Vasquez brought her rescue dog, Cleo, to her tenth groomer in three years and watched her cower on the table, trembling under a stranger's hands. Elena was done settling. She had the expertise — years of veterinary technician training and a certification in fear-free animal handling — and she had the vision: a grooming studio where the dog's emotional experience was treated with the same seriousness as their physical appearance.
She opened Pawfect in a sun-filled studio in East Austin with one chair, one mission, and zero tolerance for rough handling, harsh chemicals, or the frantic conveyor-belt energy of big grooming chains. Every product on the shelf was organic, every technique was calm, and every dog was treated like the beloved family member they are. Word spread fast. The waiting list grew. And Pawfect grew with it.
Today, our team of certified, fear-free groomers cares for hundreds of Austin dogs each month — but the philosophy hasn't changed by a single word. We believe grooming should be a ritual, not an ordeal. That transparency builds trust.
